I READ with interest the article on children copying the show Jackass.
I am myself a teen and watch this show, as do a lot of my friends and I have never carried out scenes from this show because it is simply a bad idea. Though the things they do on the show are dangerous and stupid they are supervised and performed by professionals.
If some silly little boys wish to ignore the warnings and copy the stunts, it's their own fault if they get injured. Also I believe the parents of the children should not be blaming the programme but themselves as well as the children. As parents they should now what their children watch on television and what the children doing when they are not at home. The children should also have the common sense to know that these stunts are very dangerous and in some cases fatal.
A lot of shows on television these days show violence and stupid acts. If the government decides to take this programme off the air what will be next? The Simpsons, EastEnders, Coronation Street? For all these shows show some kind of violence and stupid acts. If the government wishes to do something about this subject I think they should make an effort to show children the consequences and effects of these stunts.
