DAREDEVIL Jodie Scanlon will be doing it for dad this weekend when she overcomes her fear of heights: by stepping off a hotel roof.
Brave Jodie from Bury will abseil down Manchester's Renaissance Hotel to say "thank you" for the successful treatment her father Tom received for prostate cancer.
Tom (70) would like nothing better than to join his daughter tomorrow and raise money for Cancer Research UK. He used to be a steel erector with a head for heights!
He also underwent a hip replacement as well as battling cancer. But it hasn't put him off his ambition: to wing walk.
Jodie (26 ), of Rochdale Road, said: "Dad is recovering from prostate cancer after treatment at Christie Hospital. I wanted to do something to thank them for the treatment he received".
Jodie, who is a supervisor in a jewellery business at the Trafford Centre, is hoping to raise up to £200.
