ELMS Bank High School is to receive £800,000 to build new classrooms and improve existing accommodation.
Other local schools will also share in a £9 million cash boost from Bury Council.
Specialist teaching accommodation for science is to be improved at Castlebrook High School in Unsworth, costing £100,000.
The hall at Higher Lane Primary School, Whitefield is being extended at a cost of £200,000, which is the final phase of works to amalgamate the former infant and junior schools.
And £350,000 will be spent on developing a unit within a secondary school, yet to be chosen, to cater for pupils with Autistic Spectrum Disorder.
The investment is part of the £38.5 million Bury Council is spending on new-build and maintenance projects this coming year, the council's biggest ever allocation.
The £9 million schools budget includes £3 million which is going directly to schools for their own building and repairs projects.
Councillor Steve Perkins said: "Bury's schools produce some of the best results in the country and the council recognises the importance of a good school environment to pupils' learning opportunities. We are determined to invest in the fabric of our schools and provide a good learning environment for the borough's children."
