NO flag flew over Darwen Municipal for St George's Day because it had been stolen.
The Union Jack was last noticed flying from its new pole outside the market hall entrance as darkness fell on the Saturday night, having been hoisted to mark the Queen's birthday. But the following morning it had disappeared.
