THE Tree Council is inviting people to help celebrate its 30th birthday.
The 'Walk in the Woods' festival, starts on May Bank Holiday weekend and continues throughout the month.
The first event is on May 1 at Beacon Fell Country Park. The walk through the woods to the summit of Beacon Fell will start from Bowland Visitor Centre at 2pm.
Other events include a dawn chorus walk, at Witton Country Park, Blackburn, to mark international dawn chorus day. This will start at 5.30am and will involve a small walk through the woods to see and hear the birds, followed by some tea and toast.
A third walk will look at specimen trees that grow in Yarrow Valley Country Park, Chorley, will take visitors through Duxbury Wood. Walkers should meet at 1pm on May 30 in Duxbury golf course car park.
