JIM McCluskie will finish his spell in charge of Rossendale United at Belper Town tomorrow.
McCluskie, who led Dale to the NWCL championship in 200, took over as caretaker when Paul Lynch quit in January but won't continue beyond this season.
He said: "There's no acrimony and I've really enjoyed the last couple of months but I need a new challenge."
He will, however, still be in charge for the friendly against Manchester United, played in memory of fan David Taylor, on Tuesday (7.45pm).
Jim McBride still has plenty to play for as CHORLEY complete their UniBond Division One season at home to Ossett Town tomorrow.
With two wins and two draws from four games since taking caretaker charge, he wants to prove he is the man for the job permanently.
And tomorrow Chorley can leapfrog their opponents into 14th, which could yet be enough for a place in the UniBond Premier.
McBride said: 'We want to finish as high as we can because you never know what can happen."
