I WANTED to write and thank all your readers who lodged their support of the British Lung Foundation's (BLF) campaign for the implementation of the new NICE COPD Guideline.
More than 2,000 people returned signed postcards in just 14 days to the BLF asking for the provision of vital services like pulmonary rehabilitation for the estimated 2.5 million people in the UK with COPD -- an umbrella term for chronic emphysema and bronchitis.
The postcards were presented to 10 Downing Street to urge the government to make respiratory disease a priority.
The BLF will continue to lobby Parliament until every lung patient gets the treatment and services they deserve.
DAME HELENA SHOVELTON, Chief Executive, British Lung Foundation.
