POLICE today released details of a cannabis factory unearthed at an Oswaldtwistle house.
The plants were found at the house in Stanley Street on Thursday night and taken to Accrington police station.
Sgt Clare Holbrook, of Accrington police station, said: "Two rooms had been converted to accommodate the growing of a large crop of cannabis plants.
"The system encompassed timer switches, a water feeder, humidifiers and fans to assist the plants' growth. Some were over three feet high.
"The plants were grown in stages, with a nursery of smaller plants in a separate room off a bedroom.
"Additionally, a large quantity of dried cannabis leaves was recovered. The occupants of the premises were out at the time the warrant was executed. However, a man is currently in custody at Greenbank station, in relation to this matter."
The raid was carried out by a team of 15 officers from Accrington accompanied by Lancashire Constabulary's Eastern division support unit and armed response unit, plus special constables.
Police also raided a home at Williams Street, Clayton-le-Moors. A small amount of cannabis resin was seized and a man received a verbal reprimand.
