RADCLIFFE distance runner Michael Aspinall put in a superb performance in the London Marathon to finish in a very impressive 2 hours 34 minutes 26 seconds.
The 20-year-old student's excellent achievement meant he finished an amazing 114th out of an estimated 32,500 starters.
Formerly a member of Radcliffe AC and now competing for Lancaster and Morecambe AC while he studies Mechatronics at Lancaster University, Michael's time will come as no surprise to Radcliffe AC club members who have watched his steady progress over the years.
Earlier this year, on a visit home, he knocked an impressive 29 seconds of the course record for the club's 12 miles Trail Race in a time of 67 minutes 32 seconds.
