A FRAUDSTER who dishonestly obtained £600 from a Government department has had his jail term cut by London's Criminal Appeal Court.
Mayula Kibula, 31, of Castle Street, Tyldesley, was jailed for 15 months at Sheffield Crown Court in February, after pleading guilty to two counts of obtaining property by deception.
Mr Justice Owen, sitting with Mr Justice Fulford, cut his term to nine months after concluding the sentencing judge did not adequately differentiate between Kibula and a co-accused.
Kibula's offences related to obtaining £313.50 by deception on June 12 last year, and £290 on June 30, while the other man was a member of a much wider conspiracy.
