A MAN going through a divorce forged his wife's signature on an insurance document, a court was told.
Anthony Lees, aged 56, of Sycamore Drive, Radcliffe, appeared at Bury Magistrates Court and admitted a charge of making a false instrument to deceive.
Mark Humphreys, prosecuting, said the divorce proceedings between Lees and his wife had been protracted and involved four endowment policies tied up with the sale of the matrimonial home.
The insurance company required signatures and Lees forged his wife's signature, not to cash the policies, but to cease payment on two policies.
Lees admitted he had forged his wife's signature and was fined £100 with £55 costs.
