POLICE today said they were continuing to investigate an alleged assault involving Blackburn Rovers manager Graeme Souness.
The 50-year-old turned up at Everton's Goodison Park ground on Saturday sporting a wrist cast and said it was down to a "discussion" with his stepson's father.
Cheshire police would only say that a man who knew Mr Souness made an official complaint following an incident at his home in Wilmslow, Cheshire.
Speaking after the match, Mr Souness who has been feeling the strain of his club's poor form, said: "I can confirm that during a discussion with my stepson's father about the discharge of parental responsibility an incident took place in which I suffered an injury while defending myself.
"It is a family matter which by its very nature is private and I don't intend to comment any further."
