BLACKBURN college has been identified by Her Majesty's Inspectorate as ranking in the top 50 colleges in the country for high achievement rates of bilingual students.
In the Ofsted survey to find examples of best practice, called Raising Achievement in Bilingual Learners, inspectors identified specific strengths of the college.
Following the inspection, the college has now been recommended as a case study in Ofsted's final report for other institutes to follow.
Specific examples of good practice identified included effective monitoring of students' progress, good links with parents and local communities, strong leadership and management of learning support services, and high levels of student confidence in the support made available to them at the college.
College principal, Sheena Ewing, said: "The College has always had an excellent reputation for its language programmes and we are delighted to receive recognition for our high achievement rates."
