YOUNGSTERS were given a taste of the past when time travellers visited their school. Members of the living history society stopped off from the 17th Century to act out scenes from the civil war for pupils at Ryddings County High School.
The Roundheads and the Cavaliers arrived at the Oswaldtwistle school in full period costume and performed two scenes depicting life in those far off times.
And a thief who thought he'd snatched a a huge haul from a Blackburn jewellery shop made off with a pair of rings worth only £50.
