GOAL hero Graham Branch feels Burnley have finally achieved their aim of First Division survival.

Branch struck for the second time in five days to earn a priceless win against Derby and lift the Clarets to within one point of assured safety.

But with many of Burnley's relegation rivals facing a daunting final two games, Branch is confident Saturday's three points will be enough.

He said: "We look like we have finally got ourselves out of trouble and it's a massive weight lifted off our shoulders.

"I feel a million dollars right now. It's been such a hard season with everything we've had to deal with and I'm hoping that's it now because we deserve to stay up.

"The lads have slogged their guts out to get to where we are and hopefully now, relegation is something we don't have to think about.

"After a long, hard season that's such a good feeling."

Branch struck his third goal of the season three minutes before the break to settle a nervy affair with the relegation-haunted Rams.

And the Clarets skipper had special words for the biggest Turf Moor crowd of the season, who raised the roof to provide the spur for victory.

Branch added: "Scoring the winner feels good enough, but seeing everyone go mad at the final whistle was just brilliant.

"The fans were amazing and it was like the atmosphere of old inside the ground.

"I just wish every home game was like that. The atmosphere was unbelievable and I was made up that we got the result to send the fans home with big smiles on their faces.

"They have been brilliant this season and I think a lot of people got some pent-up emotion out of their system at the final whistle."

Burnley Youth team face Oldham Athletic tonight in the final of the Lancashire FA Youth Cup. Kick off at Turf Moor is 7pm and admission is just £3 (adults) and £1.50 (concessions).
