ROSSENDALE and Pendle Mountain Rescue Team is urging hikers to get involved in a charity walk.
The 45-mile Rossendale Way in a Day will let walkers take in the views as they trek around the Rossendale Valley and is an important date on the mountain rescue team's fundraising calendar.
For those less experienced walkers the 22-mile Half Way in a Day is also being staged.
Both routes on the day, scheduled for Saturday, July 3, will follow a clockwise direction, enabling well-seasoned 'half-wayers' to experience the opposite end of the trail. Walkers and runners are welcome to take part if they pay a £10 entry fee.
Prizes will be awarded for first-place walkers and runners at both distances.
The mountain rescue team will be on hand all day providing food and drinks, followed by a slap-up meal on completion.
