There was a familiarity about this cup final.
Not only was it a re-run of last year's under 17s showdown, but players from both sides knew each other as college colleagues.
Rivals on the pitch, study buddies off it and it was Langho who earned the bragging rights.
Carbon copy goals in each half -- neat near post flicks by Danny Harrison and Jamie Dullenty -- sealed a narrow cup win for Langho.
Not the same scoreline as last year (Langho won 2-1) but the same outcome.
As always at this age group, the match was played at fast forward speed.
Tackles flew in as the ball pinged about at 100mph. But once the dust had settled, both sides played some attractive football.
Great Harwood keeper Ben Caulfield made the first of a string of fine saves as early as the second minute when he palmed away a pile driver of a free kick from Simon Keogh.
Langho showed great awareness from the next set piece when Adam Khan took a quick free kick that Martin Grindrod headed in to the side netting.
Great Harwood's first chance also came via a set piece when Dave MacNeally got the slightest of touches to Adam Noone's free kick that Langho keeper David Jamany fumbled and caught at the second attempt.
There was a bit of a free kick theme going on in the early stages because Ben Hughes appeared to have given Great Harwood the lead with a wonderful curling effort -- unfortunately it was ruled out because it was an indirect free kick.
Caulfield then made another great save from Dave Walker after Patrick Swanway had been caught in possession by Harrison.
And there was a defensive lapse that led to Langho's first goal. Cieron Wells did superbly initially to outpace Dullenty but his clearance fell to Khan who whipped in a cross that Harrison touched home at the near post.
Great Harwood hit back with Greg Aspin forcing Jarmany to tip away his long range effort.
The Hyndburn side piled on the pressure early in the second half as they looked to get back in the game.
Mark Bottomley fired just wide after good battling by Chris Clarkson. Bottomley then forced Jarmany in to a good save after a surging run from Hughes.
Great Harwood were virtually camped in the Langho half but they were always prone to the counter attack. And so it proved when Atif Zamir scampered free down the right to cross for Dullenty to flick the ball home at the near post.
It was a knockout blow for Great Harwood, whose pressure counted for nothing. And for the second season running, they ended up the losing team.
