MORE than two-thirds of Bury Council's tenants are happy with their landlord, according to the latest survey.
Around 900 tenants were asked to say how satisfied they were with various aspects of the council's housing services team. The same survey was carried out three years ago.
Key improvements from the survey show that 68 per cent are satisfied with the general service and 67 per cent believe their home represents value for money.
Three-quarters are satisfied with their area as a place to live, as they were last time. Again, the most common neighbourhood problems listed were litter, vandalism and dogs.
Some 82 per cent found staff helpful when they contacted the service, up from 68 per cent the last time, while satisfaction with repairs increased from 58 to 64 per cent.
An appointment system for repairs, introduced last year, scored a success rate of 86 per cent.
Finally, 60 per cent (up from 40 per cent) were satisfied with opportunities to get involved in decision-making. This score places Bury in the top quarter of metropolitan authorities.
Councillor Tim Chamberlain, executive member for regeneration and housing, said the results would be used to prioritise improvements.
The council held a prize draw to encourage residents to take part in the survey. Paul Kerry of Prestwich, Lesley Steadman of Bury and Keith Spencer, also of Bury, won cash prizes ranging from £100 to £25.
