PEOPLE in Pendle are being invited to put on their hiking boots and attend the first walking festival of its kind in the area.
The event will run from Friday, September 3, to Monday, September 6, and will feature five different walks of varying lengths throughout the borough. They will be aimed at all people, with some easy walks and some more challenging.
Mike Williams, Pendle Council's tourism development officer, said: "The Walking Festival is part of the council's efforts to encourage tourism, but will be an enjoyable event for residents and visitors.
"We've started talking to local walking groups and other organisations who might be able to help put on guided walks. But I would like to hear from experienced walkers and walk leaders, in or around Pendle, who may be able to offer a walk."
