THOUSANDS of trees were planted in Blackburn by eager young environmentalists.
The three green teams each received cheques for £333 for their schools.
Holy Trinity primary school, Darwen, and Our Lady and St John, and Queens Park high schools in Blackburn were rewarded for their outstanding contributions in the Lancashire Groundwork Trusts Environmental Progress Competition.
