BURNLEY Youth Team striker Rhys Carpenter has been called up to a training camp with the Wales Under 21 squad.
Carpenter, 18, has notched 15 goals for the youth and reserve teams this
season and has been rewarded with the call-up to Clayton Blackmore's squad.
The Third Year Scholar, a former Welsh schoolboy international, will spend three days with the squad before returning to Turf Moor on Thursday.
Clarets youth team coach, Terry Pashley, said: "Rhys has gone away with the Wales Under 21s and that is good for him.
"They are training for three days and he'll be back with us later in the week."
