WORLD'S Strongest Man veteran 'Big Dave' Gauder has put his weight behind an anti-bullying campaign in East Lancashire by pulling a 12-tonne coach along the driveway of a Blackburn school.
The Midlands-born powerhouse and world record holder strapped on his harness at Longshaw Community School, for the 512th time as part of his tireless campaign.
Big Dave's Anti-Bullying Roadshow is now in its fourth year, as Dave tours the country's primary and high schools to speak to pupils about the nature and effects of bullying, and the often closely related issues of drugs in schools.
Using the simple slogan 'Never Say Can't', the roadshow is Dave's own brainchild, drawing on his own suffering at the hands of bullies at senior school.
Pupils Adam Bird and Zoe Davies, both 10, were lucky enough to be hoisted up on Big Dave's shoulders after his feat of strength.
Eleven year-old Casey Beck, said: "Big Dave was brilliant. But I would like to see him pull two 12-tonne coaches next time!"
Headteacher Brenda Bolton said she was delighted by Big Dave's visit, emphasising the importance of the message he brings on bullying and drugs in school, areas which are often concentrated on more at senior school.
