PENDLE is aiming to become a more friendly borough following the publication of the Community Cohesion Action Plan at a meeting of Pendle Partnership.
Members of the Local Strategic Partnership approved an Action Plan which commits Pendle Council and other organisations in Pendle to work together to improve unity and community cohesion in Pendle.
Pendle Partnership chairman Dennis Mendoros said: "Community Cohesion is about respecting people, despite differences in age, faith, place of residence, culture and any other differences in background, upbringing or life choices.
"It involves all neighbourhoods and communities in an area sharing a common vision and sense of belonging and means that diversity is appreciated and valued."
Mohammed Ishaq, Chair of Pendle Partnership's Community and Social Inclusion Key Priority Group added: "Community cohesion is an important issue for everyone in Pendle and we must get all our partners working together to make it happen. This Action Plan will be a big step forward."
