BACUP Borough made it a hat-trick of wins over Warrington as they followed up their two-legged Challenge Cup semi-final success with a league victory last night.
With Town needing three points to secure a promotion spot, this game was fiercely contested.
Bacup keeper Dave Felgate was soon in the action with a couple of saves then Duncan Edwards lost his bearings and almost gave a goal away with a stray back header.
But on 26 minutes Bacup took the lead when Lee Wilkinson struck the ball left-footed into the far corner of the net from 25 yards out.
With Warrington desperate to get something from the game, they came at Bacup in the early stages of the second half.
And the home side equalised when the ball broke loose wide of the 18 yard box. With plenty of men round the ball, Phil Mitchell somehow managed to hit it into the far roof of the net.
Bacup were in no mood to let the equaliser put their heads down and went in search of the winner, which came on 60 minutes when Karl Stanley's corner was headed in by Darren Emmett just inside the far post.
Felgate pulled off two important saves to ensure a hat-trick of victories against Warrington Town this season.
And there could be a fourth at West View on Saturday when the two sides meet again.
