THREE keen games were played in the Atherton Charity Cup last week.
The first match, between Hindsford and Atherton Town Reserves , began with Atherton creating good chances until Redshaw sent Town in front. Hindsford equalised with on own goal by Taylor and took the lead when Fashou headed home Critchley's cross.
In the second half, Atherton made a good attempts but Hindsford scored a third from Woods.
In the second match Atherton Town took on Aspull. After a scoreless first half Town netted five times, two from Ralph, two from Hornby and one from Prince.
The third match saw Leigh Athletic take on Blackrod. Simm gave Leigh the lead and Wilcox doubled the advantage after an hour. Morris pulled a goal back from the penalty spot but Simm scored again to ease Leigh through.
