A FORMER Radcliffe man and well-known biologist, Mr Tony Wallwork, has died at the age of 71.
Mr Wallwork, who studied mites in habitats ranging from polar lands to hot deserts, died last month. He was born in Radcliffe, lived in Morley Road, and attended Stand Grammar School.
He became a professor of zoology in the University of London from 1983 to 1988 and was an adviser to the British Antarctic Survey between 1979 and 1983.
