ROTHERHAM - it just had to be Rotherham! The two wins last week mean just one more point is needed, and we have to go to, of all clubs, Rotherham to get it!

Millmoor is a ground few away teams like visiting and if you were to hope one team was relegated, you would pray for them just to avoid having water drip down on you in the dressing rooms before the game!

Glenn Roeder famously kicked up a stink earlier this season when he refused to allow his West Ham team to change there.

And that was while we were still sweltering in 80 degree summer heat, not shivering in April showers!

But more seriously, we all know we are in for a tough game across the Pennines.

Ronnie Moore always has his team up for a scrap and we haven't enjoyed much luck playing there in recent seasons.

But there's always a chance this particular War of the Roses could turn into a bit of a playground spat if news comes through that Walsall are heading for defeat at Crystal Palace.

A point would then be good enough for both teams and if my old boys at Selhurst Park are coming up with the goods, we might end up with a stand-off of German and Austrian proportions way back in the 1982 World Cup!

In the meantime, you won't be surprised to learn the mood in the Burnley camp has risen considerably by beating Wimbledon and Derby.

Most of the nervousness has gone and we know we are almost at the finishing line.

In many ways it will be a relief to finally get there because it's been a tough old season for everyone.

But the gaffer is keeping everyone's feet firmly on the ground for one final push.

We're all aware that football has a nasty habit of kicking you in the teeth and the last thing anyone wants is to come back into the damp dressing room on Saturday and learn that Gillingham, Derby and Walsall have all won.

You have to say that Walsall face a massive task though.

Palace are flying at the moment under my old team-mate Iain Dowie and right now, going there is probably tougher than travelling to either Norwich or West Brom.

The play-off picture is still pretty tight, but there's always one team every year that makes a late push and Palace look like edging one team out.

If they do that, they will have a great chance in the play-offs.

People will still be fancying West Ham and Sunderland - and with the massive support those clubs generate that can certainly be an advantage.

But I'm sure all Burnley fans want the Hammers and the Black Cats to slip up in the coming weeks so that top opposition comes back to Turf again next season.
