A TERRIER with character scooped a top award for being most like his schoolgirl owner!
Border cross Lakeland Max was a 10th birthday present last May to Tyldesley girl Danielle Tootill from her grandparents.
And on Sunday, 18 months old Max beat a host of pampered pooches to take top awards at the Moses Gate Country Park Dog Show. Danielle, a pupil at Tyldesley St Georges Central CE, can claim a share of the trophy awarded to Max, in the category for the dog and owner who most closely resembled each other!
Max, also came runner-up overall of 180 entries and Danielle's mum, Janet Naylor, revealed he hadn't even being brushed before the show!
When asked where the close resemblance lay Danielle replied: "We've both got the same hair, same eyes and neither of us do what we're told!"
Max, is a real character. He eats "anything but dog food" according to Danielle and is a pleasure to have, even if he is a bit of a "nutter"!
In fact, Danielle says Max and herself are best friends.
Danielle was "well chuffed" to win the award and said the show was "unbelievable".
