BURNLEY Football Club and the police are warning Clarets fans to buy their ticket for the last game of the season in advance, or be turned away.
The last fixture, against Sunderland at Turf Moor on Sunday, May 9, is an all-ticket match and anyone without one will not be allowed in the ground, or the immediate area around it.
There will be a high-profile police presence on the day.
Officers will be checking before fans reach the ground and anyone without one will be turned away.
Police will also be conducting random searches of fans and will be enforcing the town's alcohol-free zone, which covers the town centre and the approach to the football ground.
Supporters are also being warned not to run on to the pitch at the end of the match.
Match Commander, Inspector Dave Shepherd, said: "This is the last match of the season and we want to ensure that both visitors and home fans can enjoy it in complete safety.
"We will welcome the visiting Sunderland supporters as always, and have agreed with Burnley Football Club that the stadium will be open from 11.15am.
"Burnley Football Club and the police welcome law-abiding fans, but not those intent on causing trouble.
"Anyone behaving in an illegal or anti-social manner will be dealt will swiftly and appropriately by our officers, whose primary goal at this match is the safety of the fans.
"For some that might mean being arrested and put before the courts, whilst for others it could mean joining the 51 people already subject to football banning orders."
