DANCERS from Leigh beat the best at the Pontins British Dance Championships.
Twelve years-old Leah Frain, six year-old Amy Houghton and her sister Kirstin Houghton, 9 and 11-years-old Lauren Crowther-Brown flew the flag at Prestatyn for the Apple Dance Centre and their tutors Diane and Julie Dawn Appleyard
Battling with a painful groin strain Bedford High first year Leah won the U14s intermediate slow dance championship and Amy won the U8s disco grand final and the slow dance category in her age group. Sister Kirstin, like Amy, a pupil at Bedford St Thomas's school, finished fifth in the grand final and fourth in the slow dance.
Lauren, from Golborne, girl struck gold after winning the under 12 category. In November last year Lauren won the European under-12s championship and the Champion of Champions title.
