REGARDING post from Australia I have experienced the same problems with some computer software. It travelled from Australia only to be held up here at Burnley.
I complained on the national postal services number in Yellow Pages only to be told that this was not a government department but a private company and I had no right to complain.
I was told to address my complaint to the company I bought the goods from. I rang back again and this time it was a man who gave me a 10-minute lecture on the alterations to the postal service, and then listened to my complaint, and promptly dismissed it as having nothing to do with the postal service.
I have other computer software outstanding which was despatched 10 days ago. I have also complained to Postwatch and your reader should do the same.
There is another point here - the postal service is no longer protected under Royal immunity from prosecution.
Is it not about time Trading Standards pursued a prosecution under the Trades Description Act for failing to provide an advertised service? I would certainly support a class action if any solicitors firm dare instigate it.
