PENDLE MP Gordon Prentice has called for action to improve NHS dentistry in the borough.
Mr Prentice wants to see the Government increase the number of dentists by employing similar tactics to those used to encourage doctors to set up, or keep, practices in areas short of GPs.
The Labour MP said many of his constituents had complained to him about the difficulty in seeing an NHS dentist.
He said: "GPs are given golden handshakes to come to an area, and those close to retirement golden handcuffs to keep them for a few more years."
