PEOPLE in Pendle are being invited to stroll their way to fitness at the first walking festival of its kind in the area.
Both younger and older residents are being urged to get their hiking boots on for the borough's event.
The festival will run from Friday, September 3, to Monday, September 6, and will feature five different walks of varying lengths throughout the borough.
There will be some easy walks and some more challenging treks for the more experienced walkers to take advantage of.
Mike Williams, Pendle Council's tourism development officer, said: "The Walking Festival is part of the council's efforts to encourage tourism, but will be an enjoyable event for residents and visitors.
"We've started talking to local walking groups and other organisations who might be able to help put on guided walks.
"But I would like to hear from experienced walkers and walk leaders, in or around Pendle, who may be able to offer a walk."
Anyone able to help should contact Mr Williams on 01282 661661.
