A MAN has appeared in court charged with an attack that left a 43-year-old man in hospital with serious facial injuries.
Danny Anthony Derbyshire, 29, was charged with malicious wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, after Glynn Fort was found lying in a side street in the Avenue Parade area of Accrington.
Derbyshire, of Burnley Road, Accrington, appeared before Hyndburn magistrates and his solicitor applied for bail, which was refused.
He was remanded in custody until May 6, when he will appear at Burnley Crown Court.
Mr Fort is currently in the facial surgery wing of Blackburn Royal Infirmary. The court was told he is awaiting X-rays, after being discovered by a milkman on his rounds, in the early hours of Monday, April 26.
He had suffered head, face, knee and shoulder injuries. Police carried out house to house inquiries before arresting Derbyshire.
