I QUESTIONED the players desire and pride in last week's column, and boy did they make me eat my words!
But I was more than happy to swallow every last punctuation mark to see them get back to back wins, especially beating Derby in such a crucial game.
The performance was better than I suppose it's been for a number of weeks. The goalkeeper was great, the back four were terrific - especially the two centre backs May and McGregor, and Camara had his best game for months.
There was, though, still a sense of great relief at the end of the game - from the players on the pitch, to the management right through to the sponsors lounge.
So now it's a case of same again for tomorrow at Rotherham.
That's going to be another tough encounter because they're not mathematically safe either, so we've just got to match them.
Another point or two should do it for us.
But the players have done their bit, now it's down to the fans to show their support for the club and vote with their wallets.
It's great to see so many supporters have already purchased their seats for next season, and I believe it's very much a case of the more the merrier.
The more fans who buy their season tickets now, the more money will be at the manager's disposal and the better calibre of players the Clarets will be able to attract for next season.
The future is something we have to be looking towards now. I'm sure that's what Stan Ternent will be doing that and assessing what type of squad he can afford next year.
It's all about the new season now.
We've done the hard bit in getting through a trying and worrying season with financial constraints.
Now it's time to look to building the club up again.
And the fans can play a massive part in that just by buying season tickets.
