MANCHESTER City fans showed their true blue colours at a recent meeting of the Prestwich and Whitefield Supporters Association.
When Kevin Keegan made a surprise appearance at Heaton Park Social Club, they gave him a standing ovation.
Branch committee member Don Price said: "Especially with the pressure they have been under recently, the fans gave him a fantastic response. There were 300 people in the club and everybody felt for Kevin. To come to a branch meeting like that in the situation City are in, shows what a tremendous person he is."
Keegan was joined at the meeting, held at the Bury Old Road club, by player Trevor Sinclair, who is from Whitefield, and chairman John Wardle.
Wardle was invited to the meeting and Keegan made an impromptu appearance to show his support for the chairman.
Mr Price, along with other branch committee members Aide Dickson and Dave Ratcliffe, went on to reveal their branch's support for the Blues on national television when they appeared on BBC1's Football Focus on Saturday (April 24).
