AMBITIOUS Bacup Borough manager Brent Peters has set his sights on next season's North West Counties Division One title, even before the current campaign has ended.

Bacup go into the final game of the season tomorrow, hoping to earn their fourth win of the campaign over Warrington Town.

Peters is keen to end the season on a winning note to set the benchmark for next term.

And while he admits it will be party time at full-time to celebrate his side winning the League Challenge Cup last week, Peters is adamant that his players will be fully focused for kick-off at West View.

"This has been a tremendous season," the Bacup boss said.

"We can't make the 60-point mark but we're just about halfway in the table and we've won a cup. You can't grumble with that.

"But I'm not a man to rest on my laurels. We've got to be focused on winning the championship next season.

"If we'd have had the team we've got now at the start of the season, or even halfway through, I'm sure we would have been challenging Clitheroe at the top."

He added: "We'll be celebrating our success after the game tomorrow by parading the cup round the pitch.

"But, while we'll be partying at the end of the game, we won't be before kick-off because we'll be focused on winning our last game of the season."

Brian Welch is unavailable tomorrow but Peters hopes Stuart Telfer will have recovered from a hamstring problem in time to replace him up front.

Lee Anderson is also expected to be involved despite struggling with a calf injury, and Darren Esdaille, who missed the cup win, is battling to shake off an ankle injury.
