A 17-YEAR-OLD girl needed surgery after a glass was smashed in her face in a pub in Bury during an unprovoked attack.
The teenager was in Ronnies Bar on the Rock when a woman attacked her with a half pint glass.
She suffered a slash wound to the right side of neck and a two inch slash in the forehead.
She was taken by ambulance to Fairfield Hospital where she received treatment and was later transferred to Wythenshawe Hospital for surgery.
The girl has since been released after the incident last Saturday and is recovering at home. Her attacker is described as white, aged 19 years, 5ft 7ins, average build, with long straight brown hair. She was wearing a white mini shirt and light coloured top. Police are currently studying CCTV footage from the town centre in an effort to identify the offender. Det Sgt Simon Aston said: "This is particularly violent attack which has left a young girl scarred and I would urge anyone with information to come forward."
