EXTRA police officers are to go on patrol in Accrington after a spate of crimes last week.
Officers in uniform and plain clothes will target the Peel area of the town - around Burnley Road - after incidents were reported to police, including burglaries in Bold Street and Washington Street.
The Washington Street raid on Tuesday probably involved someone using a vehicle to carry all the stolen goods away, Sergeant Claire Holbrook, of Accrington Police, said.
Cars in Spencer Street, Westwood Street and Adelaide Street have all been damaged, interfered with or had things stolen from in the last week.
Inspector Julian Platt added: "We will be having extra officers in the area to nip this in the bud. They will be both plain clothed and in uniform. We would urge any members of the public who know anything about these crimes to contact us."
