THE world's most popular search engine, Google, is set to hit the US stock exchange with a bang.
The company intends to sell $2.7bn-worth of shares and you can be guaranteed they will be snapped up, with many people hoping to make millions.
However, it is likely that many employees will also prosper from the move, as Google was set up with the backing of family and friends of the two main owners.
The search engine started life on Stanford University campus in 1996 and in just eight years has become one of the world,s best-known names.
ACHARITY has set up a website to help support the UK library system, which a recent report says is in a dire condition.
Libri (www.libri.org.uk) says the demand for books is at an all time high, with the popularity of Harry Potter just one example of the trend.
But it claims that outdated systems and procedures are suffocating the library service and is calling for drastic changes.
At the moment the site does not have a great deal of content but you can read the report which says libraries have to be more welcoming to people.
