A BLACKBURN teenager who escaped from a Doncaster prison has been recaptured in Lancashire after a chase involving the police helicopter.

Michael Jackson, 20, absconded in early March. He was found after a man living at a house in Ribchester Road, Wilpshire, reported an intruder at around 5am on Wednesday.

Police were called and the force helicopter was drafted in to track Jackson as he attempted to hide.

Inspector Bob Ford, of Clitheroe Police, said the man was arrested and questioned about a string of burglaries in the Wilpshire and Clayton-le-Dale areas.

He has been sent back to prison on bail pending the result of forensic evidence from Ribchester Road home.

Mr Ford said they were looking for two other people in connection with the offences. One is described as a white male who was wearing a grey hooded top. He confirmed Jackson was jailed in 2002 for several offences.
