The proposed netting of Parkers bottom lodge went ahead on Friday.

The object of the exercise, by the owner Mr Keith Talbot, was to remove the pike.

The netting commenced at 6.30am starting at the deep end of the lodge moving to the centre and using electro fishing gear. Plenty of pike were located and removed.

The net was drawn to the top end of the lodge, and the contents of the net revealed a considerable amount of small skimmer bream, perch and larger bream, two tench, and one chub.

Over a hundred pike were removed from the net, the biggest being 20lb.

Chris Hogan fishing the venue on Saturday accounted small skimmers, roach, perch and still witnessed pike striking, which the net had failed to locate.
