RAMSBOTTOM and Tottington get a raw deal from Bury Council -- according to the area's local councillors.
Tottington councillor David Higgin accused the leader of Bury Council, John Byrne, of giving his ward (East Ward) priority treatment.
And the chairman of Ramsbottom and Tottington area board, Coun Dorothy Gunther, added: "We in this area virtually bankroll Bury."
Their accusations and comments came as members of the public asked when a clean-up team would visit Tottington, and why East Bury was always the first to be earmarked for initiatives to improve the area.
Coun Yvonne Wright said: "We are always at the bottom of the list."
Tottington will stage its community clean-up and fun day on Saturday, May 8 between 11am and 3pm. It will take place at Town Meadow and will also have displays and family activities.
