A TEENAGE girl has been left badly scarred after she was glassed in the face in a town centre pub.
The 17-year-old reveller was approached by an older woman in Ronnie's on The Rock on Saturday night and had a half pint glass thrust into her face, causing a slash wound to the right side of her neck and a two-inch gash across her forehead.
The girl was taken by ambulance to Fairfield General Hospital and later transferred to Wythenshawe Hospital for surgery. She is now recovering at her home in the borough. The unprovoked attack happened shortly after 11.30pm.
Now police have taken CCTV footage from the pub and are reviewing tapes in an effort to identify the attacker. Detective Sergeant Simon Aston from Bury CID said: "This is particularly violent attack which has left a young girl scarred and I would urge anyone with information to come forward."
The offender is described as white, aged 19, 5ft 7 ins tall, of average build, with long straight brown hair. She wore a white mini shirt and light coloured top.
Anyone who may have witnessed the attack is urged to contact DS Aston at Bury CID 0161 856 8150 or Crimestoppers 0800 555111.
