A SMART sports car for a weekend is one of the prizes up for grabs in the sixth Bury Fun Run in aid of the Anthony Nolan Bone Marrow Trust.
The five-mile run takes place on Sunday, June 13, and to date the annual event has raised £22,000 for the charity which helps victims of leukaemia.
This year, the run is being sponsored by The Stables Fitness and Leisure Club at the Bolholt Country Park Hotel in Walshaw and Lythgoe Motor Group which is donating the use of the car. Another prize up for grabs is a free 12-month membership to the leisure club.
Runners will start from the hotel and follow a route up to Walshaw Cross, through Lowercroft, on to Bolton Road, down Bolton Road, through Stephen Street, Bury, and back to the hotel through Walshaw.
Carol Snowden, secretary of the Bury Friends of the Anthony Nolan Bone Marrow Trust, said: "People can enter the run, which is not a race, on the day but it would be better if they could let us know beforehand. We have prizes for those who bring in the most sponsorship."
Entry fee is £5 for adults, £2.50 for children, £10 for a family of four and £15 for a team of four adults.
Entry forms can be picked up at The Stables Fitness and Leisure Club or by ringing 07939144983 or emailing carolsnowden@talk21.com
Young and old, keen runners and those who wish to don fancy dress as well as corporate teams are all invited to take part.
