PENDLE MP Gordon Prentice is backing a government call to improve street lighting. With the average cost of replacing a street light of £800 he called on the government to provide more cash for Lancashire.
Mr Prentice said: "Its important that street lights are renewed before they become dangerous and also lighting renewal gives us benefits in energy efficiency, reliability and reduction in light pollution.
"Efficient light also helps reduce road accidents, crime and fear of crime."
