FRIENDS of the Earth in Pendle have been asked to put forward ideas for the proposed Pendle in Bloom event.
The group are set to attend the meeting at Booth Street, Nelson, on Wednesday at 3pm.
Councillor Dorothy Lord, who is helping to organise the event, is asking people from all over Pendle to raise suggestions.
Coun Lord wants to generate ideas in using flowers and shrubs to brighten and enhance the borough.
Pendle FoE has already suggested a 'Welcome to Colne' message in flowers at the Vivary Way roundabout.
Another suggestion was to create a floral clock.
Friends of the Earth in London suggested that if the council avoided peat the Pendle branch could promote a peat-free event and generate national publicity for the borough.
Brian Jackson, of Pendle Friends of the Earth, said: "In view of the pressures on peat bogs from commercial exploitation and development we think this an excellent idea.
"If anyone out there would like to contribute ideas or suggestions or would even like to accompany me to the meeting on May 5, I would be delighted to hear from people."
