A STORE with a difference is to open in Bury to prove that space really is the final frontier.
And the launch of Selfstore in the town's Crostons Road will be a boon to businesses and home owners struggling to find suitable space.
The company offers secure flexible storage space to domestic and corporate customers without long-term commitment for as little as £10 a week.
Unlike traditional or containerised storage facilities, customers can access their goods or belongings at any time, without prior arrangement and without charge. Each of the storage units is fully alarmed and all are monitored 365 days a year for complete peace of mind.
Anything can be stored at the premises, from clothes to books.
Company director Simon Hindle said: "At a time when space is at a premium and the lifestyle trend is becoming more minimalist, we are finding more and more people are looking for inexpensive and flexible storage solutions.
"There are a lot of myths surrounding storage. People believe it to be expensive, a huge commitment or too large a space for them. However, this is not the case as we offer flexible space for the length of time you require at an affordable price."
The decision to set up a facility in Bury comes at a time of rocketing house prices where people are being forced to purchase smaller homes in order to get on the housing ladder. And that poses a storage problem.
