RAMSBOTTOM Rascals have entered a new era with the launch of a fashionable kit under newly-elected chairman, Bob Heys.
Members of the thriving club were consulted before the "men and women in black" poolside kit of hooded tops, polo shirts and named towels were commissioned.
In charge of his first meeting on Monday, Bob pledged to build on the club's history of success under head coach Rick Wesolowski.
The most outstanding performance recently was in the intermediate league with the Rascals, who are reigning champs, winning by forty points at Howe Bridge Aces.
Team manager Karen Whelan, told the Bury Times last night, "They beat us last season so we knew it would be tough. We had some key swimmers missing but eleven years old Luke Evans epitomised the spirit of the squad. He has hardly trained since injuring his hand playing soccer but he came back magnificently winning all his races."
Youngsters in the NE Lancs league remain unbeaten and Cath Bennett's senior squad beat Wigan and Ashton Central.
Wesolowski said, "We have been concentrating on endurance because I have noticed we had been missing out over the last few metres against stronger teams -- and it is paying off."
The club's committee heard membership is up and sponsors are being sought for various prestigious galas including the popular shrimps event.
