BURY boss Graham Barrow is running the rule over two West Ham United youngsters who are being released by the First Division side.
Phil Lumsden, a central defender and goalkeeper George Sealey, son of the late Les Sealey, both played in the reserves 3-0 victory against Wrexham at Gigg Lane on Monday afternoon.
The pair are currently in their final year at the Hammers Academy and are half of a quartet of youngsters leaving Upton Park in the summer.
Liam Parrington has gone to Gillingham while former Bury favourite Phil Parkinson, now the Colchester boss, is having a look at Marce Collington.
Keeper George would be following in his dad's footsteps should he put pen to paper on a contract for the Shakers.
Les, who tragically died of a heart attack three years ago after enjoying a marvellous career in the game, was signed by then manager Stan Ternent as cover for Dean Kiely in March 1998, though he never actually saw action for the club.
Both players turned in useful displays earlier in the week and boss Barrow is keen to have a further look at them.
"They could possibly be here next season," he said.
"We are going to need some back-up along the line and we may take a longer look at them pre-season.
"West Ham have a great youth policy and the contacts I have down there have proved to be good.
"George didn't have a lot to do in the game but when he was called upon he did very well.
"Both have been training with the first team and have paid for their own trip up here which proves to me how keen they are to impress."
